Model History and Information: The Cat® PM622 is a cold planer (road milling machine) built for controlled, full-depth removal of asphalt and concrete pavement ahead of resurfacing, using a single rotating cutting drum rather than multiple passes. Caterpillar rates its milling width at 2,235 mm (88 in) with a maximum cutting depth of 330 mm (13 in), and it is powered by a Cat C18 engine. Classed as a half-lane milling machine, the PM622 is built for high-production work on roadways where pavement needs to be stripped down before new material is laid. This 1:50 scale model reproduces the PM622’s rotating cutter drum, folding loading conveyor, and tracked undercarriage.
