Trackside in Eastern Canada with the Plant Family is a stunning visual journey through several decades of railway photography across the Maritimes, Quebec, and Ontario. Brothers Jeffrey and Jeremy Plant, along with Jeremy’s son Brian, chronicle their explorations from the 1970s to the early 2000s, capturing the evolution of Canada’s eastern railways, from the Alco-powered main lines of Canadian National and Canadian Pacific to the remote mining railroads of the Canadian Shield. Blending family adventure, heritage, and a lifelong passion for trains, this book offers a rare and intimate look at both the grandeur and the grit of Canadian railroading.

Through more than 150 vividly detailed scenes, readers will follow the Plants from the busy ports of Halifax and the coal trains of Cape Breton to the majestic wilderness of northern Ontario. Each photograph is paired with expert commentary and rich historical context, making Trackside in Eastern Canada both a captivating travelogue and an essential reference for rail enthusiasts and historians alike.
